Matthew Worke, DDS
Dr. Matthew Worke was born and raised in Minnesota and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2022. While in dental school, he received the Clayton Swanson Award for Removable Prosthodontics. He began practicing dentistry in 2022 and purchased Southridge Dental in 2026.
Dr. Worke believes in taking the time to educate patients about their oral health and helping them understand the treatment options available to them. He strives to present the option he believes is best for each patient while also discussing appropriate alternatives, so patients can make informed decisions about their care. He and the Southridge Dental team place a strong emphasis on communication, compassion, and creating a friendly, professional, and relaxed environment.
As a general dentist, Dr. Worke provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages and has experience with a wide range of procedures, including restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, root canal therapy, dentures and partial dentures, periodontal therapy, tooth extractions, dental implant placement and restoration, clear aligner treatment, and TMJ-related and occlusal appliances. He also provides same-day emergency dental treatment when possible.
Since beginning practice, Dr. Worke has completed approximately 10,000 fillings or restorative cases, thousands of crowns, approximately 1,000 tooth extractions, 100 root canal cases, 100 implant restorations, and 50 dental implant placements. These areas reflect some of the procedures he performs most frequently and the broad range of care available at Southridge Dental.
Dr. Worke has completed approximately 250 hours of continuing education since dental school, including about 150 hours focused on dental implants and 100 hours in restorative dentistry. His advanced implant education includes Implant Seminars in Miami in 2022 and ITC Implant Seminars in Guatemala in 2024, along with multiday, hands-on training in the surgical placement of dental implants.
Dr. Worke provides a broad range of treatment in-house, including surgical dental implant placement, implant restoration, root canal therapy, routine and surgical extractions, crowns and bridges, fillings, dentures, partial dentures, periodontal therapy, and emergency treatment. Modern technology also plays an important role in Dr. Worke's approach to diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and comfort. He has approximately four years of experience using CBCT and 3D imaging as well as digital impressions with a TRIOS scanner. Southridge Dental also uses intraoral scanners or cameras, dental laser technology, and digitally guided implant planning using CBCT and digital impressions.
Dr. Worke is a member of the American Dental Association® (ADA), Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Outside the office, Dr. Worke enjoys playing golf with friends, including at indoor simulators during Minnesota winters. One of his most memorable golf experiences was making a hole-in-one. He also enjoys building LEGO sets, cooking, traveling, hiking, and anything sports-related. Dr. Worke has a three-legged rescue dog named Emmitt, who enjoys long walks and relaxing outside in the sunshine. He also cherishes the time he gets to spend with friends and family.
